About the Author

JerroldWinger is an author, technical writer and consultant whose background encompassed 40 years as a chemical engineer.

His first published book was the technical primer, Small Boats - Mechanics and Materials (2007), initially produced as pamphlets for an accident reconstruction company doing marine investigations. It contains 72 topics arranged in five parts, Mechanics, Hydrostatics, Polymers, Polymer Composites and Strength of Materials.

His next book, The ÓDelta of Technology (2007), correlated the impact of R&D investments to corporate earnings for large capitalization companies.  The author investigated a 22 year history of the country’s top one hundred spenders in R&D and demonstrated how to separate the best from the rest. The Delta Model employs a unique mathematics to provide an overall assessment of a company’s current success versus competitors and makes comparisons across industries to determine the appropriate level of R&D investment..

His third book, Mysterious Entanglement - Science and Religion (2011) offers new insights into the relationship between science and religion and suggests they are two sides of the same coin. The author supports the hypothesis that it is our destiny to find our place in the Universe and reveals the Gap of Uncertainty that exists in the two world views of both science and religion.

His current book is entitled Starkind – Lessons of the Jenjo Masters (2012). The Starkind have searched the Milky Way Galaxy for other life for 50 thousand years.  The climactic discovery of a sentient civilization at the edge of Spacetime -3 by The Starkind exposed the moral dilemma confronting a quantitatively and qualitatively superior civilization when it encounters one of profoundly lesser technical and cultural status. The cultural and philosophical values and mythological legends of the Starkind are interwoven into the story, especially their devotion to Kal, a lifelong practice of psychological centering. The reader should come away with a profound reverence and anxiety for the place called Mother Earth and by extension the Universe that surrounds it.

JerroldWinger retired from the Energizer Battery Co in 1997 following a 40- year career. He was a former Director of Technology for the iconic Energizer Battery Program.  He received a lifetime achievement award in 1997 called the Energizer Excellence Award, for his leadership in Technology and Quality.

Mr.Winger received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from MichiganStateUniversity in 1957.
